bitcritiq is a technology review and buying-advice site. The idea is narrow and we would rather do it well than do more: give you the answer first, then show you how we got there.
Why we exist
Most sites in this category make you scroll past several screens of advertising to reach a headline, then several hundred words of preamble to reach a recommendation. We measured a well-known one in August 2026: on a phone, 37% of the first three screens was advertising, and the first headline did not appear until two-thirds of the way down the opening screen.
So: every review opens with the verdict. Every article can be read in a compressed form that takes about forty seconds. No advertisement ever appears above a headline. Nothing on the page moves after it loads.
Who owns bitcritiq
One person. bitcritiq is owned and published by Robin, who is also its editor and is accountable for everything on it. It is independently owned — not by a company, a publisher group, a network or an investor — and no manufacturer, retailer, agency or PR firm holds any stake in it or any say in what it says.
Editorial responsibility sits with the same person as ownership, which is unusual enough to state plainly: there is nobody above the editor to overrule a verdict, and nobody below to blame for one. Write to robin@bitcritiq.com and it reaches Robin directly.
How we make money
Advertising, and commission on some links. We hold ourselves to a density limit that is well below what this category considers normal, because a site people install an ad blocker for has no future. Verdicts are written before any affiliate link exists. Full disclosure.
