All three add Matter and Thread devices. They differ in which hub you need, which assistant answers and what camera video history costs.

Extender or mesh: what the makers say, from TP-Link, Netgear and eero pages read 14 October 2026. Extender: repeats the router's signal from one box; Netgear says a basic dual-band model may halve bandwidth; for one or two weak rooms. Mesh: several nodes on one network name; usually replaces the router; devices move to the strongest node; for weak spots across the house. Backhaul, the link between nodes: shared with your devices, a dedicated radio, or an Ethernet cable.

The router ban leaves yours alone: foreign-made routers, from the FCC’s Covered List, FAQ and notices, read 8 October 2026. Router you own: no restriction on use, and the FCC says owners need not do anything. Already approved: models approved before 23 March can still be imported, sold and used. New foreign models: no FCC approval, so no US sale, unless they hold a Conditional Approval. Firmware updates allowed at least until 1 March 2027 for routers the FCC approved before 23 March 2026.

Roller: rinsed as it turns, at 200 to 300 rpm on Ecovacs, Roborock and iRobot figures, and lifts or shields itself over rugs. Track mop: a belt rinsed by 16 nozzles of 140°F water, at 12 newtons, on the Narwal Flow 2. Pressure quoted in newtons and in pascals cannot be compared.

Wi-Fi 7’s gains need Wi-Fi 7 devices too: what it adds over Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, from Wi-Fi Alliance, Apple, Google and Intel pages. 320MHz channels: 6GHz band only, twice the throughput of Wi-Fi 6 per the Wi-Fi Alliance. Multi-link operation: several links at once, for throughput, latency and reliability. 4K-QAM: 20% higher rates than Wi-Fi 6’s 1024-QAM, and the router and device both need it. Apple’s Wi-Fi 7 iPhones, iPads and Macs stop at 160MHz. Both the router and the device need Wi-Fi 7, and your internet plan still caps the rest.
