Privacy

Short version: we have no accounts, no newsletter, no cross-site trackers of our own, and we do not sell anything about you. Most of this page is a list of things we do not do.

We use two analytics tools, and they are not equivalent.

Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies and collects no personal data. It runs for everyone, and it is what we rely on for basic traffic counts.

Google Analytics 4 sets cookies, so in the EEA and UK it loads only after you consent — and until you do, Google Consent Mode v2 keeps every storage and advertising signal denied, which means no analytics or advertising cookies are written at all. Decline and GA4 never runs for you; the site works identically and we still count your visit through the cookieless tool.

We added GA4 to answer questions the cookieless tool cannot: which pages people actually read to the end, and which outbound links they use. We are recording this change here rather than quietly widening what we collect — before 2026-08-27 this page said we did not use Google Analytics, and that was true then.

Saved articles never reach us. The bookmark feature writes to your own browser and stays there. We cannot see your list, and it does not sync between your devices.

Advertising

We show advertising through Google AdSense. In the EEA and UK you will be asked for consent before any personalised advertising loads, through a consent tool certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting — same prominence, same number of clicks.

You can change your choice at any time from the link on our cookies page.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA, UK, or a US state with comparable law, you may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, or object to processing. Given how little we collect, the answer is usually “nothing tied to you”. Write to robin@bitcritiq.com — that reaches Robin D., publisher and editor, directly — and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If we add anything that collects more data — a newsletter, say — this page and our consent model change first, before the feature ships.
