Who it suits
Best for most people
The highest average here, and the tablet reviewers keep describing as the sensible stopping point: Tom's Guide and Trusted Reviews both gave it four and a half out of five, and Digital Trends called it Pro power at Air price. It does nearly everything the iPad Pro does, and the M3 chip should keep it current for years.
Where it falls down. Every outlet called the update incremental — Trusted Reviews went as far as one of the most unnecessary updates to the series yet. The previous M2 model does almost all of the same things, including Apple Intelligence, so if you already own one there is very little reason to move. Keyboard and pencil are extra.
