What each outlet scored it
| Outlet | Score | Out of ten |

| CNET | 9.3 / 10 | 9.3 |
| Tom's Guide | 4.5 / 5 | 9 |

Who it suits
The best iPhone
Five out of five at TechRadar, which calls the cameras Apple's biggest leap this year, with a variable aperture and Pro controls. Tom's Guide lists the fastest chip in a phone and very long battery life; CNET praises its low-light photos and charging. Tom's Guide names it its best phone overall.
Where it falls down. All three reviews count the $100 price rise against it. Tom's Guide and CNET call it heavy, CNET putting the Pro Max at 249g, and TechRadar notes no major design changes. If you want the camera in a smaller body, the 6.3-inch 18 Pro drew the same scores.
Where this sits against the alternatives
This product is one of the picks on iPhone 18 Pro Max and Galaxy S26 Ultra Top the Phone Reviews, which compares it against the others that cleared the same three-outlet bar.
