Who it suits
Cheapest way into the Kindle store
Trusted Reviews called it easy to recommend and gave it four and a half. It is the lightest and most compact Kindle, it reads the same Kindle library as the Paperwhite, and it is fifty dollars cheaper than one.
Where it falls down. Tom's Guide is the low mark at three and a half, under a headline saying it is a good ereader they wanted to like more. What the fifty dollars buys on the Paperwhite is a bigger screen, a warm front light and waterproofing, and people who read in the bath or in bed generally end up wanting all three.
